We know it, Bury know it but then so did Crewe and Dario's daredevils were denied. Thus anyone going to Gigg Lane for a goal fest today, will be bitterly disappointed. Bury should secure promotion today and deservedly so, but easy games against Barnet (2-0), Burton (1-0) and Northampton (4-2) suggest our five man phalanx will be more of a challenge than the statisticians suggest.

Recent encounters between the teams
Both sides you feel will also have eyes on Monday, with the Imps saving most of our energy for a Sincil Bank encounter against Cheltenham of Cup final proportions. Let us hope so in both cases for Bury, the best away side in League 2, have already beaten 5-0 on our own back yard. The Shakers’ home record, does not exactly make the earth move, putting them a surprisingly sober seventh.

Recent respective form guides
Gigg Lane is not traditionally one of our best hunting grounds. The Imps have won only 6 of 36 matches at Gigg lane to the hosts credible 18 with a 0-2 (ATT 2,554 with 198 IMPS) defeat last season fairly typical. We deserved better in all honesty with a spirited rearguard action until Rob Lowe fired home with 5 minutes to go thanks to a Danny Hone deflection. Substitute Andy Worrall then repaid the entrance fee in full with a fine strike from the right hand side of the box. Ominously both play today, but most thinking Imps would take 2-0 irrespective of results elsewhere.
