York City have secured the services of just the midfield general they need. The ex Imps captain is a loyal battler who can certainly march the Minstermen up to the top of the Blue Square Hill and back into the League. Hopefully unlike the old Duke they wont March down again, that is of course once they finally return after last years heartbreak and this years underachievement thus far.
Although quite a few Imps over the years would be pleased to have seen the back of him, Scott was always up for the fray and loyal to the last on and off the pitch. Few, Scott included would argue that this is the right time to part. Manages came disliked, then put him back in the side and went, this time he left with his head held high back in the side. Scott to his credit not only suffered some fools gladly but outlasted them, showing a reserved vein that belied his normal character to always battle his way back in.
Thanks for always trying to lift the players with a big tackle even if it sometimes backfired Scotty. For running around the centre when out numbered when the latest idiot’s to partner you go missing in action. Thanks for making Freck look good under Schoey.
Thanks for never giving up even when confronted with superior ability, regular losing streaks and managers that did the most incredulous things. Thanks for always coming good in the big games when most had hung our backsides out to dry. Thanks for the Cup run last year.
Yes Scott Kerr might not be David Beckham but he is a little bit more than a dog of war. And every side needs a Robbie Savage or an Exodus to do the dirty work for them on the field whilst keeping the secrets off it.
Good luck Scott you always tried, always gave 100% when those with god given talent never showed up. You leave some interesting memories behind and will doubtless carve out a few more with perhaps even a return to the England C team.
