The Imps turned in a lacklustre display on Friday night, falling to a 4-1 defeat at Chestefield, with several players coming under fire for their poor performances. Iffy Onuora would be happy to drop players should they turn the same sort of performance in again.
"I'm not one to slaughter players in public, and run players down for the sake of it", Onuora told local press "but you can't play any side with too many players off their game. Certainly we can't have two bad days at the office because that would tell me that we need to change things around a bit in the team."
Whilst Onuora may not feel like slating certain players in the press, fans haven't been quite as quiet, with midfielder Shane Clarke, defenders Lee Beevers and Nat Brown and Forwards Dany N'Guesson and Jamie Forrester taking a particular battering.
Clarke is perhaps the biggest worry. In Lee Frecklingtons continued absence Clarke has filled the central midfield role alongside Scott Kerr, but has looked lightweight and at times out of his depth. At his tender age too much responsibility in a side hitting a run of defeats could leave Clarke a dejected figure, and with loan player Alex Morfaw waiting for his chance perhaps its time for Onuora to make his first big decision as City boss?
City are without Frecklington, Gary Croft and Lennel John-Lewis tonight with Lee Ridley also a doubt. This will mean a second consecutive start for Dany N'Guesson who hasn't looked as effective starting as he does coming off the bench. Fans will be hoping the 'Eiffel Power' can rise to the occasion and help sink the Magpies tonight.
