Ben Futcher is set to play in tonights clash with York City at Bootham Crescent, despite being targeted by Scunthorpe striker Steve Torpey in Saturdays local derby.
Torpey appeared to elbow Futcher in the face shortly before the towering defender had to leave the field for treatment to a bloody nose. The big man didn't let it affect him then, and it won't be carrying forward to this game either.
Futcher has been in fantastic form of late, with a series of commanding displays at the back for the Imps. His inclusion tonight will be a boost for the Imps, short of cover at the back.
Keith Alexander will name an unchanged side from the one that drew 1-1 with The Iron, with Richard Butcher still out. Both Gary Fletcher and Peter Gain have shaken off slight knocks to appear in this re arranged fixture.
Tonights referee is Mr Paul Robinson, well known to City fans. It was he who was in charge of the volatile 1-0 home defeat by Carlisle last season dismissing 4 players in the process. It was also he who dismissed Keith Alexander in the 4-3 LDV Vans trophy win over Chesterfield earlier in the season. Imps fans will be hoping his cards stay rooted in his pocket tonight as they serch for their first win in February. Recent draws with Boston and Scunthorpe have left City just outside the play off positions.
York manager Chris Brass is hoping defender Chris Smith will recover in time for the game. York themselves are looking for the win that will relaunch their assualt on the play off race. Ex Imp Justin Walker is expected to line up in midfield.
