Previously any player who collected five bookings in a season would serve a one match ban. However a few years ago the FA introduced an amnesty that meant bookings collected after the 28th February no longer counted towards the total.
However the FA have pulled that amnesty date to December 31st now, two days before Scott's booking in the FA Cup tie with Bolton. Therefore his four previous bookings have been erased, and he is free to play against Accrington Stanley on Saturday.
Great news for Scott and for The Imps.
