Trevor Carson, who has just cemented an extension of his loan deal from Sunderland until 23rd April, is eager to be part of next seasons plans according to BBC Lincolnshire, he told them:
"I'm so happy here because getting into a Premier League side for a young keeper is hard. I would more than welcome an opportunity to come back next season, they're putting a great squad together and I'd love to be part of it."
Given the rumours of investment (Bob Dorian is hinting that someone looking to invest in the club) we could be looking at a boost to what looks to be a bright and breezy, slightly more free and easy financial era at the Bank..
A class keeper and a 20 goal a season centre forward would also help to shoulder the burden with fans certain to put their hands in their pockets even in these uncertain times. Investing in the team rather than championship facilities is what the fans want. Uncle Bob and Chris Travers may not be the richest but at least they recognised it too when they put in 10 grand each.
Come on Imps - after a win against Barnet on Saturday what about either taking in the visit of Oxford United, Tues 1st, or Accrington on Saturday 5th March; perhaps even both win those and who knows where we will be in the League.
That is not to say we will be doing anything this season but with a keeper like Carson pledging his belief then hopefully Grimes will follow. Then with the better gates that optimism and decent form brings we can look to add to the rudiments of an already promising squad in the summer.
