The Imps have completed the signing of former Manchester United trainee Chris Fagan.

The 19-year-old striker has become the first player to sign professional terms after being at Glenn Hoddle's Football Academy in Spain, and City beat off a host of clubs wanting to sign the striker, from Spain and England.

Fagan left United last year, and had a trial at Huddersfield where he hit a hat trick in a reserve game. He also spent some time at Scottish Premier League side Hamilton Academicals towards the end of the season.

The Ireland Under-21 international striker has signed a two-year contract.

Peter Jackson believe's Fagan's signing is the 'coup of the season', telling the clubs official website:

"I watched him towards the end of last season and Iffy's been out to Spain to have a look at him and this kid has got everything,"

"I said as soon as last season came to a close that I wanted to bring young, talented players into the Club and Chris fits that bill perfectly. A number of clubs in Spain and the rest of Europe were interested in him so he could well be the signing of the summer in terms of potential.

"Glenn Hoddle has put great faith into the Club and myself by letting Chris come here and for us Lincoln City to become the first team to sign a player from Glenn's Academy is a real coup for us."
