Clucas played just 10 minutes of the friendly against Sheffield Utd, but after putting in 80 solid minutes against Scunthorpe last night the midfielder looks likely to be offered a one year deal.
Clucas is a local boy who didn't enter the Lincoln City youth system. The Imps have tracked him throughout his early career though, as two years ago he competed in the International catholic School Games in Hungary.
He had been offered a scholarship in America, but will be offered a deal by City who are looking to beef up the first team squad. Clucas performed solidly last night against Scunthorpe against former Charlton man Josh Wright in midfield.
With Scott Kerr still carrying an injury additional midfield cover was needed, and ginger haired Sam appears to have done enough to earn a deal.
