Winger Francis Laurent says he hopes to put a 'nightmare' 12 months behind him after joining Lincoln City. After leaving Southend, where he played under City boss Steve Tilson, Laurent had an unsuccessful trial at Coventry before returning to his native France.
In January he joined Northampton but made only six League Two appearances.
Laurent told BBC Lincolnshire: "Last year was a nightmare, but I spoke with the manager and made my mind up that this is going to be a good challenge."
He added: "I've worked with him before so I know him. I really enjoyed my time at Southend, it was great, and now I'm looking forward to enjoying my time here as well."
