The 22-year-old has been used as a second-half substitute in the Imps' first two matches of the season, after being the first name on the team sheet the past two years.
The Republic of Ireland B cap told local radio: "It's very frustrating because as a footballer you want to play every week."
The Imps have often lacked the creative guile that Frecklington gives them, but new signing Stefan Oakes has really put pressure on the former YTS player.
"Scott Kerr and Stefan Oakes have done fantastic and there is not a lot I can do about it if they play well."
However Frecklington admitted he'll be working twice as hard to regain his place in the starting XI.
He added: "It's just a matter of getting my head down and working hard and when my chance comes I take it."
Frecklington is very much a man who plays down the middle, whereas Stefan Oakes often drifts out wide as well. Oakes just seems to have an added dimension to his game, but perhaps its too early to tell. Theres little doubt Frecklington will be a key player this season, and competition for places is the key to a succesful side.
