Green obtained a booking in the final minutes of Saturdays controversial 1-1 draw with Bristol Rovers in a challenge in which he appeared to do nothing wrong at all. However fist year referee Fred Graham opted to issue the City striker with a yellow card thus presenting him with a ban that begins immediately.
Green has been in good form recently hitting the net twice and turning in a series of pacey, energetic displays. His enthusiasm and probing runs will be sorely missed as City search for their first win over Grimsby in decades. It seems likely he'll be joined on the sidelines by Martin Carruthers and Simon Yeo as a full scale injury crisis kicks in at the Bank.
