Imps midfielder Jamie Hand looks to have ended a relatively unhappy stay at Sincil Bank by joining Blue Square Premier League side Oxford Utd on loan until the end of the season. Hand has come in for some stick from the home fans for his apparent lack of passing ability, and recently fell down the peckling order behind youngster Shane Clark, Lee Frecklington and Scott Kerr.
As one player has been removed from the wage bill, another has been added, as we have signed Cameroon Under 23 international Alex Morfaw on a two month loan deal from Scunthorpe Utd. Morfaw is a product of the youth scheme at French side Nantes, and joined Scunthorpe after a succesful trial spell. Ironically he has failed to break into the Scunthorpe side after suffering an injury in the County Cup game against Lincoln last year.
Morfaw (20) can play central midfield or out wide and is likely to go straight into the squad for Saturdays home clash with Wycombe.
The chances of Morfaw signing permantly are quite slim however. Neil Adkins is known to rate the player, and its understood he is out on loan to gain fitness and experience rather than looking for a move. However Morfaw will continue to add an 'international' feel to the Imps side with names such as N'Guesson and Bencherief increasing the continental flavour running through the Imps side.
Morfaw had been linked with Leicester before signing for Iron, and in 2004 was voted in the 'top 10 world prospects' in a national football magazine.
