New Imps manager Chris Sutton has wasted no time praising his current charges, and that continued in the wake of Cian Hughton’s under 21 international call up.
The defender has been given his first call-up for the games against Georgia and Switzerland by manager Don Givens, and subsequently missed the clash with Macclesfield at the weekend.
Hughton, 20, joined Lincoln City on a six-month deal in the summer under former manager Peter Jackson and is himself the son of Newcastle manager Chris Hughton. His eprformances have been strong so far, but Sutton see’s him as an effective player going forward as well as defensive cover.
Sutton told local media: "It's good for him and the club and he did very well against Aldershot for me."
