Although the Magpies have decided not to take action against City, many fans have spoken of their disgust at the minority who took out their frustrations as City fell without a trace.
One supporter, Matthew Scrafton, said: “I didn't actually see the events but from what I have heard it has disappointed me. I think it is just the minority and the so called ‘youths' who don't know better.
“I think the club or whoever deals with it needs to be as ruthless as possible to stop them from doing anything like this again, it has given the club a bad name.
“In my opinion, I would consider banning them from future matches at Sincil Bank for the next 2 or 3 years.”
