The Imps have given the Chief exectutive's job to a man the current regime at Lincoln City know very well, Steve Prescott.
Mr Prescott's appointment will please the old guard who operate behind the scenes at the top of the Imps. They will see him as just the safe pair of hands they need as opposed to any attempt at a new direction . To his credit he had operated as the Imps' commercial manager, which is what the job really needs, before leaving to take on a similar role at Nottingham Forest. His methods may also include the utilisation of messageboards if the past is anything to go by.
He is scheduled to take up his new position at Lincoln on March 1, with Dave Roberts to continue in his post until that time. Let us hope the club embark on an era of serious fundraising that will make a noticable difference to the first team from now on. There are plenty of tills ringing up and down the country despite the economic downturn.
