The retained list had few shocks on it, with Shane Clarke being offered a new deal along with Jamie Forrester and Ayden Duffy. However Iffy and Jacko have chosen not to retain the services of Alan Marriott, Mark Stallard, Adie Moses and Gary Croft. In addition to this lively youngster Louis Dodds and defender Lee Ridley have returned to Leicester and Cheltenham respectively.
Moses and Croft were expected exits and sadly so was Mark Stallard. Stallard had turned into a fan favourite with his robust play, but has suffered through injuries this year and has been restricted to just a handful of goals. However last season alongside Jamie Forrester he formed one of the most potent Imps strike partnerships in recent memory. Stallard signed for the Imps after a disapointing spell with Shrewsbury, and boasts Bradford and Notts County amongst his ex clubs.
Alan Marriotts departure is one that will both shock and sadden Imps fans. Mazza has become part of the Sincil Bank furniture over the past few years, and is the last of the famous play off side of 2003 to leave the club. Mazza is amongst the top five Imps goalkeepers of all time, and was just one season off his testamonial year. He signed from Tottenham in 1999 and has gone on to notch up over 200 appearances over the last nine seasons. Theres little doubt that a few fans will always remember Mazza as a Lincoln legends, and LCM for one is especially saddened to see him go.
