Jacko has revealed he is locked in talk with the president of Romanian club Petrolul Ploiesti, Florin Bercea, over the signature of striker Patulea.
The Romanian hit four pre season goals, including a hat trick in his first appearance against Lincoln Utd. There's no doubt he has a touch of class, but now it remains to be seen if City can secure his services.
Jacko told the clubs official site that he couldn't be signed on loan due to league rules, and therefore City would be seeing if his contract could be cancelled in Romania and allow him to move to Lincoln as a free agent.
City will now have to sit and wait for the Romanian side to come back with a positive answer. However with david Graham, Kevin Gall, Ben Wright, Sam Mullarkey, Dany N'Guessan and Lenny John-Lewis all able to play up front, Patulea will certainly have his work cut out forcing his way into the starting XI!
Petrolul, Patulea's old side, play in the second division in Romania. Romania offers a pyramid style structure outside the top division, so Petrolul play in Liga II, Seria 1, however they missed out on promotion to Romania's top flight by just one position last season. They face such sides as InterGaz and Onesti on a week to week basis, but promotion could have seen them facing the likes of Dinamo and Steaua Bucharest. Formed in 1952 they play at the 16,000 capacity Ilie Oana Stadium. Petrolul will be familiar to Wrexham fans as the welsh side were knocke dout of the 1995 ECWC by the Rominians 1-0 on aggregate.
Ploiesti has two second division clubs, the other one being Astra.
Ploiesti is the capital city of Prahova County, Romania. The city is located 56 km (35 miles) north of Bucharest and has a population of 232,452 (according to the 2002 census), making it the ninth-largest city in Romania.
