The walking wounded are beginning to resurface at Sincil Bank, albeit too late to save the man they were brought in by.
Joe Heath made an appearance from the bench on Saturday after missing all but one of City’s games this season. He’d been brought in by Jacko to allow Aaron Brown a more advanced role. However his injury meant it was ‘square pegs in round holes’ for Jacko from the opening game, a situation that ultimately contributed to his sacking.
Also close to a return is striker Paul Connor. Connor picked up an injury in Simon Clark’s first game as caretaker manager, and it had been feared that he’d suffered medial ligament damage. However it has been revealed that he has in fact got a problem with a fat pad, and that he could be in line for a shock return as soon as Saturday.
Sadly the same cannot be said of Paul Green. The full back is making steady progress in coming back from major hip surgery, but is unlikely to appear before Christmas for the Imps.
