Keith announces squad numbers

Keith Alexander has released the squad numbers for the forthcoming season with one or two small surprises.

The three forward players Marcus Richardson, Francis Green and Gary Taylor Fletcher have all retained their numbers from last season, those being 28, 30 and 27 respectively. This does leave the number 10 shirt vacated by Rory May still vacant. It is not believed that Keith is currently searching for a new striker, but a vacant number 10 shirt will always prompt the usual rounds of gossip. Promising youngster Adam Kerley has joined the three amigos with a high squad number taking the 33 shirt for his first proffesional campaign.

Another shock is the number 6 shirt being handed to rookie defender Peter Folkes from Bradford City. If the numbers are an indication of who may or may not play then Folkes has receieved a big boost ahead of his first league campaign. The big defender didn't make an appearance in a Bradford shirt, but doesn't intend to have the same limp impact at Sincil Bank.
