Lincoln City shareholders have rejected resolutions calling for the ousting of chairman Bob Dorrian and the board of directors at an EGM at Sincil Bank.More than 78% of votes backed Dorrian with a similar number in favour of the board as a whole, while six directors also saw motions against them rejected.
Dorrian told BBC Lincolnshire: "Even allowing for the directors' and Trust votes, we had more of the popular vote.
"I feel a mixture of relief and anger that we had to go through all this."
The EGM was called by a group of shareholders unhappy at the running of the club and its financial situation.
One of the group, former director Keith Roe, said: "When the rank-and-file vote against certain members of the board is overwhelming, even though they can stay on the board their position in my mind is untenable and they should stand down."
