Lincoln City have signed former Northampton Town and Southend forward Francis Laurent on a one-year deal. The Frenchman, 25, played for Imps boss Steve Tilson at Southend, where he scored 10 goals in 42 games before being released for financial reasons.
Tilson told BBC Lincolnshire: "He is 6ft 2ins, a right winger with loads of pace, great with the ball at his feet.
"He has got to get a bit more consistency into his game but I'd like to think his pace will cause problems."
Laurent left Southend after a two-year spell last summer and, after an unsuccessful trial at Coventry City, played for French side AFC Compiegne before joining Northampton on a free transfer in January.
He started his career at FC Sochaux, making 12 appearances in his first season, before having a spell in Germany.
