Maric Released By Norwich

Goran Maric has today been released by Norwich, prompting hopes that he might yet make a move to Lincoln City.

Maric has been linked with a move after rumours of him turning down a loan move began to circulate last month. Today Paul Lambert has confirmed the Serbian has has been released from his contract by mutual consent.

Towering six footer Maric is seen as the ideal target man to eventually replace our loanee Delroy Facey, should his temporary move not turn permanent. On last nights display, there are no fears of that.

Maric has previously played at Celta de Vigo, Celta de Vigo B, UD Las Palmas and FC Barcelona B. His most succesful spell came as a striker for Celta B where he hit 49 goals in 148 outings.

He signed for Norwich in the summer, after toruing with them on a pre season jaunt around Scotland scoring 2 goals in 3 games.

On 30 July then manager Brian Gunn offered Maric  a one-year deal with the club. Maric was considered as Norwich's main strikers for League 1 Campaign.

However following Gunns dismissal Maric failed to make a single appearance for Norwich, before finally being released by new boss Paul Lambert.
