Ashley Grimes, the Imps In-form East London Lion looks set to spark an end of season scramble for his signature. On loan from parent club Millwall until the end of the season, Huddersfield and Orient have also had scouts watching him in recent weeks. This has prompted the Lions to also allegedly offer him a new deal at the club.
He has been in magnificent form, of that there is no doubt, scoring 13 goals in 17 starts for the Imp. His eye for the spectacular has seen some fantastic strikes notably a crashing 25 yarder to defeat Port Vale. He is a combative fellow with 6 yellows and has the bravery you would expect of a lion even if he is staring certain defeat in the face.
Despite the Imps going down 4-2, Grimes still bagged a goal, even though he also had a penalty saved on 59 minutes with the score at 2-3. That and Barnet scoring a fourth put paid to an Imp fight back that had seen the Imps come back from a 0-3 half time deficit.
Question is Ashley can you be the first Imp since Simon Yeo to notch 20 goals? That is a rare feat in these parts.
