N'Guessan ‘close' to agreeing terms

The 19-year has been locked in talks with the Imps' throughout the weekend, with the player now said to be close to signing following a miserable time at Ibrox.

The player will become the Imps' third and final signing of the transfer window having signed highly-rated Forest youngster Spencer Weir-Daley (loan) and well as Villa midfielder Paul Green on a two-and-a-half year deal.

N'Guessan, who should sign in the next 24 hours, will arrive fully prepared for life in League Two, having already spent time on-loan with local rivals Boston this season.

Imps Director of Football, John Deehan, however, insists there will be no more signings should N'Guessan complete his move.

“Negotiations with Dany have been going on for three days now and I'm hopeful, by the end of tomorrow, we will have sorted something out," explained Deehan, speaking to the Lincolnshire Echo.

"It has been a bit difficult because Dany's agent is in France, the player is in Scotland and we are down here - so we haven't been able to sit together.

The player comes with a great pedigree, having developed under the infamous Guy Roux at French side, AJ Auxerre.

"He was given the choice of five clubs and the boy has chosen to come to us,” added Deehan.

"But, if that deal is completed, I expect that will be us finished in the transfer window."
