Imps fans were no doubt delighted by the 2-1 win over Macclesfield last night, but Sky Sports news managed to cast a small shadow over the win with their continued jibes about the travelling Imps support.
During one broadcast from the stadium the 'reporter' suggested that only 4 Imps fans had made the journey, prompting a barrage of jokes aimed at the City faithful. The presenters asked if there had ever been less travelling support, and asked if there was something going on in Lincoln that meant fans hadn't travelled.
In actual fact 202 Imps fans made the arduous journey west to Macclesfield, and the hosts allowed those who didn't want to brave the wet conditions into a seated area. However once the mistake was pointed out Sky Sports continued to poke fun at The Imps.
One fan said "It was disgusting the contempt these so called presenters treated the Imps with. Jeff Stelling on a Saturday wouldn't act in such a way, so why should these two incompetents behave in this way. It seems the corporate, money laden world of football simply doesn't acknowledge th dedication of these fans that travelled. The comments were an insult to the whole travelling faithful"
