The Imps clash with Accrington Stanley on Saturday is subject to an unusual 3pm pitch inspection today, with many predicting the game will be called off.
John Coleman, in charge of our opponents on Saturday is behind a blanket cancellation of all games this weekend.
"There was a call when the snow was forecast to maybe cancel football for a couple of weeks," Coleman told local media.
"You have to prepare that games will be on until you're told otherwise."
However he isn't behind the idea of a winter break, something that has been floated numerous times before.
"I wouldn't advocate a winter break because you don't know at what point you're going to get this snap of weather," he said. "You could get it in November or you could get it in February so to gamble on which two weeks will be the worst is hard.
"Once you know it's going to come about, which we've known for about week, what's to stop closing down the fixtures for a fortnight?
"But because we haven't been able to get on to an eleven-a-side pitch we've been looking at the fitness and trying to hammer that home to them that they have to keep on top of it.
"We've had a couple of days when the players couldn't get in to work because of the snow but they have to still keep checking over themselves."
LCM will keep you informed of any developments this afternoon.
