"Following Saturday's allegations of racial abuse of members of the Lincoln City FC bench, the club is investigating the matter. The club has a strong anti-racisist stance and no such abuse will be tolerated. Anyone found to have committed an act of racial abuse will face a life ban from the ground.
The club would urge anyone who heard any such remarks to contact the club even if they are unable to identify the perpetrator(s). The club note the comment that has been made both in the national and local media and regrets that the outcome of such a good encounter between the two clubs has been overshadowed by the allegations."
However the statement finished with the following comment which seems to indicate that although they will investigate the matter, its unlikely anyone will actually be identified.
"The club also notes the number of fans seated in the area of the dug out who have commented that they heard no such abuse and the club notes the good record of its fans in this respect over a number of years. However, the club does not prejudge the outcome of the investigation and welcomes any evidence brought to its attention."
There is however no mention of the idiots who managed to disrupt the minutes silence for rememberance Sunday, on not one but two occasions. Early on a young girl could be heard laughing, and she was promptly told to be quiet. However to the latter stages of the minute more youthful voices could be heard across the ground blatantly disregarding the respectful silence.
