Steve Tilson was naturally chuffed with a big 3 points against his old club. The Southend United win on a Sincil Super Saturday puts us 5 points from the magical 50 and was doubly important with Barnet winning 2-1 at Hereford United.

Tilson said: "It was a very big three points for us. With Barnet winning as well it was an even more important result. I was proud of the lads. It was a fantastic afternoon for us. Another five points and we should be safe. A lot was said before the game and I was desperate not to lose. The reaction from the Southend fans was great. It made my hair stand up. Travelling back to Essex is going to be a sweet, sweet feeling.

"Ashley Grimes produced a fantastic finish for the second goal and his first was a real poacher`s goal but I'd love to keep him next season but I'm sure there will be clubs higher up after him."
