Lincoln City manager Chris Sutton says Adam Watts may not be fully fit in time for the Imps' first match of the season at Rotherham on Saturday, 7 August. The 22-year-old centre-half is hoping to make a comeback after breaking his leg in Lincoln's local derby match against Grimsby back in February.
Sutton told BBC Lincolnshire: "Adam had a very serious injury so we've had to take things slowly.
"It's fair to say he's touch and go for the start of the season."
Meanwhile, Sutton revealed that Paul Green looked to be winning his battle to be fit after recovering from a broken metatarsal.
The 22-year-old, who made 13 league appearances last season, injured his foot back in April.
"Paul's done well, he's taken part in virtually every session so far and, touch wood, he'll be ready for the season," Sutton added.
