With Steve Tilson envisaging a battle at Barnet – an uphill struggle on the famous sloping Underhill pitch so to speak - it would appear sexy football may have to take a break.
Barnet, bottom and now 3 points from safety have to win what most Imps would have seen as our own cup final 6 weeks ago. That said we have to win this ourselves or the self doubts that can afflict sides could come back to haunt us. The high scoring history of this one also add some spice to the melting pot.
Tilson spoke at his Thursday prematch press conference yesterday
"We're not out of the relegation zone, not by a long way, it only takes two bad weeks and you're right back in the mix. It's important we keep pushing on and get those wins as quickly as we can."
"They're fighting for their lives, You will imagine they will have a right go at us. They are running out of games and they will be needing to start picking up points soon. First and foremost you expect a battle. I know they are a footballing side, but when you are down there you have got to battle, I'm expecting a battle. Don't get me wrong they still try to play football, but it's important you do have a battle in you. I thought they had a right go at Southend in the second half when they lost 2-1 to them on Tuesday night. It won't be an easy game, but we will get stuck in."
With Tilson's troops ready for Battle - Sexy Football will have to wait
Only joking about Sexy Football having to take a break. Let's let the present day squad focus on a battle of attrition as se run a couple of articles from Schoeys Sexy Sincil Soccer of 2006/7
