Steve Tilson and Paul Brush are spitting feathers after Friday’s 6 goal humbling at home to rampant Rotherham United. This after 5 goal home hammerings to Shrewsbury Town and Bury as well as losing 4-2 to Grimsby who can’t even get out of the BSP.
Word has it Tilson has told many of the players that they have 8 games to save their Lincoln City careers starting with a tough ask at Port Vale tomorrow night. In the open Steve Tilson has actually been very loyal to his players, despite acknowledging that we have far too many sheep and too few shepherds.
In his post match interview, with Sportin Hortin, Tilson told BBC Lincolnshire:
"I've got to get two or three leaders in for next season, there's no doubt about that. We were so naive. If I'd been playing I would have said something out there but not one of them said a word.”
Tilson also felt the loss of captain Delroy Facey, who was ruled for the rest of the season with a dislocated shoulder in the draw at Macclesfield, had hit Lincoln hard.
"We're just such a nice side," he said. "Since Del went out, maybe the one leader we'd got on the pitch, we've got no leaders in the squad."
Our thanks to BBC Radio Lincolnshire Sport for the pearls of wisdom from Stevie T.
