Two Year Deal For Moses Swaibu

Swaibu has been a tower of strength since arriving from non league Bromley earlier in the year, and today puts pen to paper on a deal that will see him remain an Imps player for the next two years.

Frank Sinclairs departure and Danny Hones injury left room for a centre back to step up, and Moses Swaibu did so with aplomb. His no nonsense tackling and clearing earned him many plaudits, not least from ex Imp Steve Thompson who commented 'If it comes near him he kicks it away, if its in the air he heads it away. That's what a centre back should do'.

Calls for Swaibu to be kept on almost reached Adrian Patulea levels over the last few weeks, and news of his new contract will delight Imps fans.

Also earning a new deal is Shane Clarke. The homegrown youngster slots into midfield in event of injury or suspension, and gives a gritty account of himself every time he does. For him to command a first team place LCM feels there would have to be a marked improvement in hsi game, but as a squad player Shane fills an important role.

These are the first two deals in what is expected to be a busy summer for Peter Jackson, boosted by a healthy level of income from deals gone by. There is also set to be several pieces of business around the current playing staff with some players hoping for new deals, and other resigned to the fact they'll be searching for a club in June.
