Imps manager Chris Sutton has spoken of his hope that he may be able to extend the loans of Aston Villa trio Eric Lichaj, Nathan Baker and Chris Herd.
All three players deals expire in January, but Sutton is hopeful his mentor Martin O'Neill will allow them to stay on at City.
Defenders Lichaj and Baker joined the Imps in October with midfielder Herd coming to Sincil Bank in November.
Sutton told local radio: "I spoke to Villa about them on Wednesday.
"They've shown a good attitude here. I said I wanted to bring in players who would improve the team and I think they certainly have done that."
However Lichaj and Baker would be cup tied for the trip to Bolton, although Chris Herd did play at Northwich. The three have had an eventful time at City, but haven't as yet been on a winning side.
Lichaj managed to rack up a red card, while Chris Herd scored past Rochdale in our 3-1 defeat. Baker has been slotting in at left back, despite that not really being his favoured position.
All three are likely to feature should todays match go ahead.
