Grimsby Town reject Mark Hudson is looking to continue his Blue Square Premiership career in Lincolnshire after a spell at Gainsborough saw him drop an incredible 4 divisions within a year; and this after opting to leave Championship side Blackpool who went on to make the Barclays Premiership.
The Imps are better off without a lad who makes those kinds of decisions. Indeed Mark was a passenger in Neil Wood’s midfield for large parts of last season and it was no surprise to see the ex Rotherham man leave in the summer with his best days clearly behind him. Tilson could find more hunger and talent closer to home, not to mention more in tune with our budget. Two youngsters also look set to move up to the first team in time for preseason training
Hudson was on good money at the Mariners and would have to accept a lower wage than he is used to if we do end up with him but then the free agent would clearly be delighted to get a one year deal at the Imps given his mobile is gathering dust.
