Danny has got Lincoln City in the blood, following in his father Mark's central defensive footsteps so to speak. He made his debut against Nottingham Forest in a 1-1 draw in the FA Cup in front of over 7,000 Imps and to be honest we took to the brave lad warts and all. Homespun a product of the fountain of youth, came on for Lee Beevers so he had two big pairs of boots to fill.
As the cry goes out for Leaders in red and white stripes, ahead of the iminent arrival of a centre back, you get the feeling it will be Homespun Hone that makes way as opposed to Moses Swaibu. Bravery honest endeavour and a never say die spirit is not always enough even if your hometown club is fighting for its very league existance.
Danny is not everyone's cup of tea with Chris Sutton putting him out on loan to Darlington where he made 23 appearances before returning to answer a crisis in the centre of defence. People seem to forget Danny, still only 21 is still learning his trade. According to reliable sources Danny did well at Darlo pitching in a goal ( the winner in a 1-0 against Tamworth) as he put in some of his normal committed performances at the expense of 4 yellow cards.
Saturday saw another committed display for the youngster but you just feel with another centre back inbound that he will be the one to make way again. Its a shame because he genuinely loves this club and would throw life and limb in front of the ball for this club.
