Darlington striker Pawel Abbott is being linked with a move to Lincoln after being told he is free to leave crisis club Darlington on a free transfer.
Abbott got his break in English football under Peter Jackson, and Jackson is a long term admirer of the striker. It would appear a move for Anthony Elding is unlikely, and with goals hard to come by last season Abbott would seem a likely solution to a long term problem.
Poland born Abbott scored a controversial goal against Lincoln back in 2004, where he netted after receiving the ball a good 50 yards offside. Referee George Cain didn't officiate a game again, and Abbott became a brief figure of hate amongst Imps fans.
However his goalscoring record is very good, and should he net in an Imps shirt he'd soon gel with the fans. Despite the controversy nobody can deny Abbott ability.
Should anything further develop LCM will be first with the news.
