Imps manager Chris Sutton has confirmed the club want to keep hold of Goalie Rob Burch, but in truth are probably fighting a losing battle.
The impressive stopper has been City’s most consistent performer this year, but is out of contract at the end of the season and can leave for free.
With Bolton, Blackburn and Doncaster rumoured to be watching him, it does seem that The Imps may lose their star man for nothing come May.
"Rob is going to want to progress his career as high as he possibly can," said Sutton.
"I would love to keep him because he is a fantastic player and he works hard.”
Sutton then confirmed that talks are ongoing, but in a frank and honest style to which we are becoming accustomed, he doesn’t rate our chances of hanging on to Burch.
"Talks are ongoing but I don't think you need to be a rocket scientist to work out what is probably going to happen."
