Mr Dependable Weaver joined the club back in the summer of 2002 and played an important role in the tightest City defence for a long while. Alongside Ben Futcher and Paul Morgan, Weaver performed valiantly for two long seasons before being replaced by towering Jamie McCombe at the end of the 03/04 campaign.

With the arrival of Gareth McAuley, Weavers chances seem limited further still. He has been a bit player for the Imps this season and handed in a transfer request just a week or two ago. Now it appears than Jan Molby is keen on Weaver despite being very anti-Lincoln City.

Molby said of next weeks clash between the two sides 'We can expect the usual ugly bombardment from Lincoln next week'. However it appears his derision does not extend to Weaver.

City boss Keith Alexander confirmed there have been several enquiries for Weaver, however, he remained cagey on Kidderminster's reported interest.

"I've not had a phone call from Jan Molby regarding Simon Weaver," said the City boss.

"And with us playing them on Saturday it's not the ideal time, but three clubs from the Conference and a league side have been in touch."

Weaver joined the Imps from Nuneaton after a spell at Doncaster. He started life as a trainee with Sheff Weds and his dad is owner of the massive Weaver Construction
