Crewe striker Anthony Elding has been told he can leave the club by current caretaker boss Dario Gradi.
Boston born Elding, 27, has notched only 3 goals in 33 appearances since signing for Crewe, and was told he figured in the previous bosses plans. However interim boss Gradi told BBC Radio Stoke that Elding was not part of his plans.
"I've suggested to Anthony he goes on loan or he can go," said Gradi. "I've got lots of strikers and they're all ahead of him."
Elding spent the second half of last season on loan at here at City, and may be a target for Chris Sutton should he desire a move back to City. The previous tumbling blocks were any fee we might have to pay, hwoever Gradi has made it clear he doesn't rate the striker.
However Chris Sutton does seem intent on ensuring any remenents of the Peter Jackson era are removed swiftly, hence LJL, Butch and Kerr all currently occupying the subs bench.
