Paul Green and Cyan Hughton are desperate to get a game to showcase themselves ahead of summer moves and Julian Kelly is certainly helping there cause. Green is looking to stay in the area and could join Grimsby if John Schofield and John Deehan are re united on a dream ticket. Deehan brought Paul from Aston Villa on a two year deal in 2007.
Although Grimsby have Peter Bore on the right he is almost certain to leave in the summer for higher climbs unless Grimsby mount a serious challenge for the playoffs. The 2-1 win over Wimbledon on Saturday was certainly a start.
Hughton meanwhile is hoping for a move to the xlightly less physical enviroment of league 1. He certainly has the talent and his father certainly has the contacts.
Both players are still hopeful of loan deals although there are currently no takers. The injury to Gavin Hoyte and the form of Julian Kelly might also give Green a reprieve. This and some brave desplays at centre half saw Green earn a new contract this time last year.
