Its all go in Nottingham with Nottm Forest loaning a striker to Burton whilst Sheffield Wednesday are eager to take two from Notts County as well as a lad from Brentford. Are we sitting comfortably League One & Two fans, then crack open that first Friday can and we’ll begin?
Sheffield Wednesday are flexing their financial muscles with enquiries for two Notts County and one Brentford player we can reveal. Since purchasing one of the country’s footballing institutions on December 14th for just one pound, Milan Mandaric's UK Football Investments has settled the clubs £7 million overdraft and set about putting the Owls back on the map. Ninth placed Wednesday are eager to secure at least a playoff spot this season and look set to add Notts County danger men, Lee Hughes and Craig Westcarr from Notts County to an already awesome attacking array.
Brentford left winger Miles Weston could also be appearing in blue and white stripes before the end of the month according to a Hillsborough source frothing at the mouth at the thought of a return to the championship and perhaps beyond. There look to be some long overdue exciting times ahead for Wednesday. Lets face it the proud City of Sheffield without a Premiership club, should be seen as a criminal offence.
No drooping at the Brewers then.........
Having already signed Zola from Crewe, ambitious Burton boss Paul Peschisolido is set to sign Nottingham Forest striker Nialle Rodney on loan until the end of the season. Having surprisingly lost Shaun Harrod to Northampton, this makes for a very tasty forward line by league 2 standards.
The 19 year old has it all with plenty of pace to match his 6’ 1” stature and eye for goal. Local lad Nialle is a product of the Forest Youth Academy and has scored regular at every level including the reserves before earning a two year pro contract. Last season saw a successful loan at Ilkeston where he notched two goals from nine appearances on the wing.
Billy Davies made Nialle part of his preseason plans, but he is yet to make his first team debut with just 1 minute on the pitch to his name thus far.
