Not Lincon City Imps, but Lincolnshire - legendary Manager Brian Laws looks set to make a dramatic return to either Scunthorpe United or Grimsby Town according to very reliable sources. Neil Woods has been given two games to shine at Grimsby whilst Scunthorpe’s plight looks just as needy.
Laws learned his trade under Buckley at the Mariners, replacing Captain Mainwaring when he left for WBA. The Iron also love the man who really got the bandwagon rolling before Adkins finished the job.
He then returned to playing at Darlington before Scunthorpe took a chance on him. It was fairytale stuff The Iron saw promotions from the fourth tier in 1999 and 2005. Despite Laws being sacked in March 2004 he was reinstated three weeks later, heroically leading them to a second promotion.
Wednesday chairman Dave Allen, likened him to Brian Clough, where he survived nearly 3 seasons at the debt ridden club. Despite the clubs parting company by mutual consent Burnley (his first club) took a chance on him as he succeeded Owen Coyle where he was unable to keep them in the Premiership last season. Brian was sacked in December with Burnley 9th in the championship
