Yeo believes the board should have done more in terms of financial recompense following the play off semi finals appearance last year with him suggesting the current players are still unhappy at the way the bonus payment s were scheduled.
Yeo also claims players wives and family were asked to pay £65 for rooms in Cardiff in 2003, as well as the players being asked for £200 in return for keeping the shirts they wore that day against Bournemouth. He also added that current contract rebels Peter Gain, Alan Marriott and Paul Morgan will follow himself, Ben Futcher and Richard Butcher out of Sincil Bank.
The board have promised a nice transfer pot for Keith Alexander this year with and increased wage budget as the club move clear from the spectre of financial doom. Perhaps it would be prudent to point out that last year the club made it to the semi finals of the play offs but missed out on the jackpot Cardiff appearance that would net so much more in merchandise and revenue, and surely had a final appearance been achieved then there would have been greater rewards.
It is always a sad day when a hero of the club walks away with a bitter word, especially one as influential with the fans as Yeo. His opinions certainly count in the fans eyes and a war with the fans is the last thing a new board want. The following few weeks will herald an exciting new dawn at Sincil Bank but unfortunately Yeo's word in local press could be the first cloud in the sky for the club.Yeo also claims players wives and family were asked to pay £65 for rooms in Cardiff in 2003, as well as the players being asked for £200 in return for keeping the shirts they wore that day against Bournemouth.
