Accrington Stanley lost their tenth home league game of the season after being taken apart three times by visiting Lincoln City.
Accrington faced an uphill struggle as early as the sixth minute when Lenell John-Lewis' cross landed at the feet of an unmarked Mark Stallard at the far post and he slotted home from close range.
Stanley fought back and were unlucky not to equalise soon after when the lively Andy Todd saw his cross fall to the head of Paul Mullin, who, under heavy pressure, saw his effort go wide of the near post.
It was Stanley who looked more threatening throughout the first half with half-chances from Ian Craney and Jay Harris both thwarted by Imps goalkeeper Alan Marriott.
Stanley made life difficult for themselves at the back during the opening few minutes of the second half and Lincoln pounced taking a two goal lead in the 70th minute when substitute Ben Wright scored from a Stallard cross-field pass.
The game was over as a contest in the 75th minute when the impressive Louis Dodds' corner fell to an unmarked Lee Beevers in the area and he slotted the ball beyond Stanley goalkeeper Ian Dunbavin.
The scoreline flattered Lincoln somewhat as it was Stanley who created more of the goalscoring chances.
However, Lincoln can be boosted by the fact they have now won four in a row and are moving away from the bottom of the League Two table.
