The Cherries moved top of League Two and kept up their 100% home record after Sammy Igoe scored twice against a defensively naive Imps side.
The Imps started with a real purpose, but despite some good possesion early doors were unable to register a meaningful shot at goal.
Brett Pitman volleyed Bournemouth ahead before Igoe got on the end of Liam Feeney's long throw to make it 2-0. Janos Kovacs had struggled to deal with Steve Fletchers flick on's throughout the opening 30 minutes.
However Chris Fagan gave City hope with a smart volley on the turn, and thats how it stayed until half time.
City came out strongly in the opening ten minutes of the second half, again without really troubly Jalal in the Bournemouth goals.
But any hopes of a comeback died when Feeney and Marvin Bartley combined to set up Igoe to volley his second.
Aaron Brown rattled the bar late on, but by then the game was lost, and Simon Clarks chances of securing the job permanently took a dip.
