Lincoln City's home form let them down again as they threw away a two goal lead in the final five minutes.

City, still looking for their first league win at Sincil Bank this season, never appeared to be in any danger but it all changed when central defender Gareth McAuley handled inside the box in the 85th minute and Courtney Pitt slotted home the spot kick.

Boston had not threatened at all until the penalty but suddenly became an inspired team.

They pushed for the equaliser which came two minutes from time. Former England star Paul Gascoigne sent over a perfect free-kick which Jason Lee headed in for his fourth goal in as many games.

Until then Boston never looked like adding to their run of three consecutive wins.

Lincoln dominated from the start with Simon Yeo wasting a fifth minute chance when he headed wide from close range.

When Boston attempted to hit back loan signing Tom McManus failed to get any power behind a long-range effort and City keeper Alan Marriott saved easily.

Lincoln edged in front in the 33rd minute when Jamie McCombe turned Boston skipper Paul Ellender inside out before firing into the net.

Two minutes later Yeo almost got on the scoresheet but his awkward shot brought a diving save from Nathan Abbey.

Lincoln looked to have put the game beyond doubt in the 59th minute when Jamie McCombe set up Francis Green who shot home from six yards.

Three minutes later Boston introduced Gascoigne from the bench and the Pilgrims salvaged a precious away point.
