Lincoln celebrated their second League win of the season after destroying a ragged Macclesfield team with some clinical finishing.
The Red Imps never looked back after a 43rd minute goal from Simon Yeo broke the deadlock.
City went further in front in the 51st minute when the Macclesfield defence made a hash of clearing a long throw from Stuart Bimson.
The ball fell to Scott Willis who was left unmarked to hook home his shot across the helpless keeper Steve Wilson.
Macclesfield tried to get back into it with manager Dave Moss switching to a four-man strikeforce but all they had to show for their efforts was a weak header from substitute Chris Byrne.
Lincoln wrapped the game up seven minutes from time when Yeo went round defender Dave Ridler before firing a powerful right-foot shot into the roof of the net.
The former Hyde United striker almost completed his hat-trick but his 88th minute effort landed on top of the net after leaving Steve Wilson well beaten.
Macclesfield's best spell came in the first half and they were unlucky when former Nottingham Forest star Lee Glover had a shot blocked before Lincoln keeper Alan Marriott saved the follow-up effort from debut boy Neil Robinson.
Glover was again involved in the 22nd minute when he set up Danny Whitaker but the midfielder's shot was cleared off the line by Bimson.
Macclesfield manager Moss said afterwards: "We were very disappointing. We didn't compete and once Lincoln got the second goal it was a lost cause."
Lincoln boss Keith Alexander said: "I felt we were in control all the way through the game. We're a young side and need time to settle down but the players worked their socks off."
Alexander praised striker Yeo for his two goals and said: "He owed us a couple of good performances after being red carded at Boston.
"He's a goalscorer and if we get enough balls into the box he'll find the net. Today he showed us what he can do."
