Sorry City In Basement Battle Bruiser

City Boss Alan Buckley described The Imps performance last night as a mere token display. In his post match summing-up interview he said :

"So we did respond okay to going one-nil down but it didn't look very positive. It was like a token gesture. That's about all you can say about us - a token gesture."

For the umpteenth time this season The Imps have put in a lacklustre display to earn themselves nothing but the contempt of the loyal supporters as another spineless display allows another lower placed team to leap over us and away from danger. Loyal Lincoln Supporter and York City "Veteran" Shane_Imp (well let's face it, it's now more like a war than a football season) is quoted via mobile SMS Text Service

"This is terrible. We're never going to score again!!"

A feeling also pervasive throughout the thoughts of fellow Imps Fans on rival message boards. Impnet (www.impnet.co.uk) had an assembled throng of City "Pundits" along with yours truly chewing on his furniture upholstery as the Imps squandered attacking chances. The charismatic Chris Jersan, Editor of Impnet although a few thousand miles away still tunes in every broadcast to hear the torment. Now that's Loyalty!!!!

The Lincoln City Official Site (www.redimps.co.uk) was proliferated with message ranging from "Buckley Out" to "Get rid of the Players", not exactly inspiring stuff, but when you are low, you are lower than a snakes undies

Another Imps game beckons on Saturday as City travel to Exeter and then to Kidderminster for the Bank Holiday clash. The certainty of safety is now looking only marginal as Halifax, bolstered by two wins recently look to claim points against Carlisle. For certain, The Imps need at least a point from West Midlands otherwise things could get decidedly more hairy. If the Imps were to gather 4 points from the this weekend it would do their survival chance a power of good......but Imps fans now seem to consider such things a miracle
