The Imps ended their training camp break with a low key warm up game against German minnows TuS Celle, and slipped to a 1-0 defeat.
However The Imps dominated the game from start to finish, mising chance after chance. Chris Fagan and Jamie Clarke started up front and could have had a bagful between them. Promising news for City is that Stefan Oakes also played and looked particularly lively - lets hope he can achieve the things expected of him last season.
Celle's goal came in the first half after a Danny Hone mistake, although it was Danny's first game back since his injury lay off.
The second half saw a gaggle of substitutes, including Richard Butcher kicking off his third spell in a City shirt. However despite dominating the game City could not find a way past a resolute Celle backline.
The game appears to have come a week early for City who may find themselves on the end of several pre season defeats. Next up are Hungarian side Ferencvaros - billed 'the most succesful team' in Hungarian history with a wealth of European expereince and domestic titles.
