The fiery son of Manchester Utd boss Alex Ferguson has suggested that Lincoln may use brute force in an attempt to halt Peterboroughs 16 match unbeaten run.
"Teams have tried to bully us before and it hasn't worked because we can stand up to it", Ferguson told local press "Whatever approach Lincoln have we will be more than ready for it."
The comments seem a little out of place as they haven't got a terrible disciplinary record. The Imps have recieved 11 yellow cards LESS than Peterborough this season, but have unfortunately seen six MORE red cards than Fergusons side. In fact the Imps may not see yellow as often as others with only Rotherham, Stockport, Dagenham and Hereford getting less yellows, but they have the highest collection of red cards in League Two. However the stats don't suggest that Lincoln will be going all out to bully Borough tomorrow.
There is little love lost between Ferguson and City, earlier in the season they entered into a war of words over Poshs approach for Lee Frecklington. City turned down a £250,000 bid for the home grown midfielder with Frecklington saying he wasn't interested in a sideways step to London Road. Ferguson hit back claiming Frecklington was 'off his head' to turn down the move.
Ferguson is no stranger to controversy or unusual comments. Just a few weeks ago he said he was sick of League Two football and everyone at the club was looking forward to promotion. He was also arrested in December for apparently assaulting his ex wife Nadine on the drive of Sir Alex Fergusons £2 million home in Wilmslow, Cheshire.
City will be looking forward to a repeat of the superb 2-1 win at London Road last season, a game in which Ryan Amoo hit two goals. City are virtually assured a place in League Two next season, and there is only really pride to play for, as well as a chance to put a stop to Peterboroughs charge towards the Championship.
The game kicks off at 3pm.
